Daddy was busy today making this video that recaps our little guy's first month. We hope that you enjoy (and Aaron set it to a very cute song...so be sure to turn up your volume).

A day in the life of a 4 week old

I get up in the morning around 7 and eat (and of course get changed and ready for the day)...and then I hang out for a while before I take a nap.
When I wake up around 11, I eat again (and get changed) then I like to relax in the swing and go for long walks. When I return from my walk, I like to nap just a bit longer.
After my nap, I get up around 2:30 and eat again (and get my pants cleaned again) and then more play time...I am starting to like tummy time. And then again...nap time. Then when I wake up the next time around 6, usually daddy is home...I eat again (get changed again) and then play with daddy. I eat again before bedtime... and then mommy and daddy get me ready for bed and read me a book. Of course even though they are "putting me to bed", I get up about 2 more times to eat before my morning rise.
As you can see...life as a newborn is great! Mommy and Daddy waiting on me hand and foot and lots of playtime...what more could a little guy ask for???

4 weeks tomorrow

It is hard to believe that our little boy will be 4 weeks tomorrow. He is growing and changing so much everyday. We go for our one month checkup on Monday...so I will post some stats then. He is eating 5 ounces at times...so Aaron and I are both guessing that he will weigh about 9 pounds or so at his 1 month visit!
He's a big fan of the bath

Some Mommy time...we still really enjoy going to our Mom's group on Tuesday...Brayden and I both get to have lunch out that day with friends...I just love it when he is cuddly!!!
He is starting to sneak little smiles in here and there...they are so quick (and probably just gas) however he is just too cute when he smiles...so I tried to snap a few

Auntie comes to visit

It has been so nice in Chicago lately that we have been able to go on long walks everyday. Brayden and I really enjoy them...however Bruiser is a little jealous...since he cannot go along. Reason being that I have not yet figured out how to get out of the house with the dog, carseat, and diaper bag, and then get the stroller out of the car---city living I tell you! However one day I will figure it out, but for now I walk one, and then when Aaron gets home I walk the other!

Aunt Natalie came to visit this past week/weekend. It was so great to see her. We went on walks, shopping and out to lunch! She even babysat for me, so that mommy and daddy could go on a date night. I already miss her!!!
I cannot remember the last time that I actually got ready for a date. We went to a yummy dinner and after one glass of wine, I told Aaron that I was already tipsy....I tell ya, 10 months off the wagon and its hard to get back on! As dinner ended, he asked what else we should do on our date...we looked at the time...it was maybe 9:30....and we both responded to each other....lets go home and go to bed! Ah parenthood, I tell ya, its exhausting!!!

Tiger Pelt

Our friend, Marshall, went to India to kill this tiger and make Brayden a tiger pelt---it shows just how special and high class our little man is. Here he is posing with it, he cannot wait to be big enough to wear it...HAHAHA!!! Seriously it is a pelt...and it is huge!!! Bruiser is totally freaked out by it!

3 weeks

Brayden is 3 weeks old today! Yikes...it is crazy how fast the time goes!
Brayden likes playing on the floor...and of course his dog is never too far from him. Bruiser was offering Brayden his raccoon to play with, however Brayden was not too interested in it.
Bruiser is a great big brother...here he is teaching Brayden how to do tummy time...And so here is Brayden doing his tummy time as Bruiser showed him.
In celebration of Brayden's 3 week old birthday, we went to Old Navy and Khol's to do some shopping (and returning...we had a few pink outfits to return since we won't be needing those). As you can see Brayden found a few hats that he liked...I told him that he should probably choose just one, but he really liked both...so we just won't tell daddy! But really...every boy needs a stocking hat and an elmer fud hat..its cold here in the windy city!!

First Road Trip

This weekend we took Brayden on his first road trip to see Grandma and Grandpa and Great Grandma in Polo! He was such a good traveler! On Friday, we had to stop first at the doctor for his 2 week check up and our big boy gained almost a pound and grew an inch...so he is now 8 pounds and 21 inches! The doctor said we no longer have to wake him to eat during the night, just during the day...but he is growing and doing well!! After the doctor's appointment we headed to Polo. On Friday evening, we went to Great Grandma's house...we had daddy's favorite cincinatti chili--yum! And then on Saturday Judy and Terry came to see Brayden and brought him some cute Bears gear (I think that daddy was just as excited as Brayden)!!! All day Saturday, Brayden was decked out for his first Halloween. It was too cold for trick or treating, however Brayden did have his own jack-o-latern and sported his pea in the pod costume! We all had a wonderful trip...and of course Brayden loved getting spoiled by all the grandparents!!!
