Seems to be the ongoing theme around here....busy, busy, busy! In the beginning of November we headed to New York City to watch Aaron run the marathon. Grandma and Grandpa Jefford were so sweet to stay and watch the kiddos...no easy feat, since it was Halloween and Day light savings time....double whammy! But here are some photos from our trip...we were so lucky to have Mary and Ricky join us!
The first day we hit the ground running...we did a double decker bus tour and hit up all the popular spots in NYC. That night we went to an awesome dinner and saw a great Broadway show, If Then...
Grand Central Station
The next day, we went to Ground Zero memorial....it was a very well done memorial, but brings up so many emotions from that day. Here are some pictures from the memorial and museum. The reflecting ponds sit on the top of the ground where the 2 twin towers were, and then the memorial and museum is underneath those....these reflecting ponds go stories deep. It whole project was very well thought out. I hope that it brings comfort to all the families hat were affected that tragic day....
The Race Expo...
Ewwww...New York has no ally ways, so the garbage is just pilled up outside. Aaron had to head home to bed after a yummy Italian dinner...but Mary, Ricky and I hit the town---we went to an ice bar, had a few drinks and dessert
The morning of the race...he left around 4:30 am....we slept in and then went to cheer him on!
Mile 8
In between spots, we walked the Brooklyn Bridge
Back to the race...mile 16
Almost done!
He did it...it took a little longer than he would have liked...but with little training, 3 young kids, cold temps and high winds...I think 5 hours is quite the accomplishment to run 26 miles!
Back at home....our little 10 month old....growing way to fast! She is all over, crawling, pulling up, walking behind things and sooooo close to walking on her own! She has started to develop a little more "sass" she knows what she wants, and she wants what she wants! She is still so sweet and so cute...its just a different way of seeing her really WANT and whine for things!
I'm busy emailing mom
Painting our thankful turkeys
Reading the latest magazine
She is all about scrunching up her nose these days...takes after her momma
We went to watch Santa light up our Palatine tree...it was actually nice out and we enjoyed cookies, hot chocolate and Santa on the ladder truck!
We had friends over for dinner the other night...a little Mexican Thanksgiving Fiesta...we made turkey cookies and are just so thankful for good friends!
First Thanksgiving!
She loved the food
So thankful for time with family....and it was a great birthday celebration too!
