The Jog A Thon
At the beginning of May, Great-grandpa went to his forever home in heaven. It was extremely hard for us to say goodbye....but we know that he is still with us, watching down. And one day, we will be with him again. After the services, we went by his home again....the home where I spent so many nights, days after school, summer days and have countless memories....and this was of course where my family and I stayed each time we visited. He had the best hospitality....he always wanted to serve others and did possess a servant's heart. He was so loving. At 94 he was on Facebook, sent emails and was busier than Aaron and I with 3 kids. We sure miss him every day....but the memories we have will forever be in our hearts.
When all this happened, Aaron took the kids and did a little sight seeing....I needed time to just be with my mom and sister. It was also my mom's birthday, so as hard as it was, we celebrated her....knowing that grandpa would have wanted it no other way.
We got back home in time for Marshall to show us his servant's heart at restaurant night. He and his classmates had gone to Francesca's and learned about waiting on others. So then this night, he was our waiter....and he sure was a great one!
